Lincoln Gun Club Membership Agreement

As
a member of the Abe Lincoln Gun Club I understand and agree that the following
rules for safe range usage and preservation of club property will be strictly
adhered to by all persons using the facilities:
1.
No alcoholic beverages may be consumed or brought onto Club
property. Empty alcoholic beverage
containers are also prohibited.
2.
All members shall sign in and sign out in the Club registration
log located in the clubhouse any time on Club property for any reason.
Names of guests must be recorded in the log after the member’s name.
Guest’s must read and sign a guest liability waiver, or have one on
file from a previous visit.
3.
Club issued identification badges shall be worn or displayed in a
conspicuous matter. Guests must wear
a numbered guest ID badge while on Club property.
4.
The red range warning flag must be up during any shooting on any
range, including the indoor range. Any
time the “Range Closed for Maintenance” sign is up, it is the member’s
responsibility to check in with the mowing or maintenance people to verify their
location and coordinate which range is safe for operation.
5.
No outdoor firing will take place before 9:00AM and firing will
cease at sunset. No indoor range
firing is allowed before 7:00AM or after 10:00PM.
6.
Fully automatic firearms or any “auto-fire” devices are
prohibited.
7.
All targets must be suspended from Club provided or approved
target frames so that the line of sight through the target is in direct line
with the 100 or 200 yard earthen backstop berms or the indoor steel backstop.
No target shall be hung or placed in such a manner as to permit a
projectile to strike the ground or miss the backstop.
Violation of this basic rule has serious consequences and will not be
tolerated by Club management.
8.
Club provided target “frames” include the indoor cable,
the 7, 15, 25, & 50 yard portable frames, the 50 yard rubber mats, the 100
yard 4’ x 8’ panels, and the 200 yard mats, and any portable frames as may
be provided by the Club for specific locations.
Additional frames may be approved for controlled shooting competitions
sanctioned by the Club. Club members
may use their own frames only if they are designed to hang from Club provided
frames, and placement does not violate Rule #7.
Place targets to avoid hitting frame supports/posts.
9.
Club approved targets consist of paper, cardboard, self-sealing
plastic, clay birds, water-filled plastic containers, aluminum cans, balloons,
or other soft or breakable items. No
steel plates or spinners are allowed outdoors.

All shooting shall be deliberately aimed and fired at targets in
the shooter’s lane. No cross-lane
is allowed on any range. Absolutely
no hip-shooting or quick-draw shooting is permitted, nor is “tactical”
advance & fire.
11.
The following is prohibited from the indoor range:
Any center fire rifle or carbine, except when firing “gallery” or
light “cowboy” loads. All magnum
pistol cartridges. Any Thompson
Center type pistol firing rifle or carbine cartridges.
Shotguns of any kind, with any load.
The .17HMR rim fire from any firearm.
12.
The 7 yard outdoor range must be fired from Lanes #1 or #2.
The 15 and 25 yard target frame positions can be fired from lanes #1
through #6. The 50 yard portable
frame positions must be fired from Lanes #5 and #6.
13.
The 50 yard range must be shot from the middle 1/3 of the covered
firing line, aligned with the targeted mat.
14.
The 100 yard range must be shot from the south 1/2 of the covered
firing line or the grass immediately south.
15.
The 200 yard range must be shot from the raised firing line south
of the covered line. No shooting is
allowed from the observation platform behind the raised firing line.
16.
The trap and skeet range is strictly limited to targeting flying
clay birds, and only with shoulder-fired shotguns.
17.
NRA safe firearms handling rules and common firing line courtesies
and discipline will be practiced and tutored on all ranges at all times.
18.
The gravel drive behind the covered firing line is for loading and
unloading firearms and equipment from vehicles.
No parking is permitted in this area while members are using a
range.
19.
All unserviceable live ammunition shall be disposed of in the
buried concrete pipe provided. DO
NOT THROW ANY LIVE AMMUNITION, CAPS, OR PRIMERS IN THE TRASH.
20.
No hunting or interference with any wildlife is permitted on Club
property. Do not disturb any
vegetation.
21.
Guests must be under the direct supervision of a member at all
times. Guests under age 12 must be
supervised by a non-shooting adult. A
MAXIMUM OF FOUR GUESTS IS ALLOWED, BUT ONLY TWO OF THE GUESTS CAN BE SHOOTERS OR
GUN-HANDLERS.
22. Before leaving the club property, all members must:
*Clean up all their targets, backers, debris, trash, empty shell casings, and percussion caps.
*Trap/Skeet Range: Un-cock the trap thrower. Power down and lock up the houses.
*Reposition any moved tables, benches, or chairs for the next member’s use.
*Refrain from storing any firearms or ammunition at the Club.
*Sign out, return guest badges, turn off indoor lights, fans, heat, etc. as necessary.
*If last to leave, lock up the building, take down range flag, and lock the front gate.
